About the Role
The Retail Sales Specialist provides exceptional customer service, product recommendations, and sales support at the retail location. This role involves troubleshooting, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to a positive team environment while maintaining deep industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Provide welcoming and proactive customer service
- Maintain omnichannel awareness between in-store and ecommerce platforms
- Mentor and assist less experienced colleagues
- Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge
- Stay current on wine and spirits industry trends
- Troubleshoot non-standard orders and transactions
- Escalate complex issues to management appropriately
- Perform daily retail functions including POS transactions, order fulfillment, inventory control, and merchandising
- Communicate professionally via in-person, email, phone, and Slack
- Attend staff tastings and participate actively
- Contribute product reviews to company website, blog, and newsletter
- Complete facility maintenance tasks including cleaning and stocking
- Participate in Quarterly Physical Inventory preparation and verification
- Independently open and close the store
- Maintain facility safety and organization
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Mentorship acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and mobile apps
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Availability to work at least one weekend day per week
- Flexibility to work early, late, or varied shifts
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, and kneel
