About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you will support the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of institutional research data used to inform decision-making across the University. You will apply your expertise in data management, business analysis, and reporting to improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of information. Working collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders, you will assess and determine methodologies for data retrieval and curation, conduct detailed data analysis, develop information management methods, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and reporting solutions. You will play an important role in supporting data quality, documentation, reporting, and business analysis activities that help ensure reliable and consistent information is available to support operational and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Developing information management methods in order to optimize the use of data
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision making
  • Handling complex and/or sensitive information
  • Developing and revising business methods that support administrative workflow and objectives
  • Analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and developing technical solutions for systems improvements
  • Probing for information to determine requirements for ad hoc data requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or institutional reporting.
  • Experience integrating, validating, and managing data from multiple enterprise systems.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making.
  • Experience creating and maintaining standardized datasets, reporting assets, and data structures.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, including data dictionaries, business definitions, data lineage, and reporting methodologies.
  • Experience performing data profiling, validation, and data quality analysis.
  • Experience using programming or scripting languages for data analysis and automation (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience developing semantic models, business data layers, or dimensional data structures.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis using complex relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex datasets and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

Salary/Compensations

  • $86,340. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $110,415.
