About the Role

This role sits within the Second Line Credit Strategy team, providing independent oversight of credit risk models, strategies, and underlying data assets. You will own a critical piece of our data infrastructure and ensure the team can perform its analytical work effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary steward of modelled datasets for the Credit Risk team, maintaining field logic, monitoring data quality, and ensuring data and dictionary accuracy.
  • Create new tables and pipelines to support evolving analytical needs, adhering to high standards of code quality and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and investigate anomalies, breaks, and drift in the datamart to prevent downstream impacts.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for data-related questions from analysts and model validators, maintaining clear documentation for self-service.
  • Collaborate with the central Data team to align on tooling, infrastructure, and best practices, and promote these within the Credit Risk Team.
  • Take ownership of redesigning departmental workflows.
  • Utilize AI to automate complex tasks and drive operational efficiency.
  • Identify high-impact AI use cases and implement advanced prompting techniques to solve multi-layered business challenges.

Requirements

  • A degree from a numerical or data-related subject (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science).
  • 1-2 years of work experience, or a recent graduate with strong data skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with Github.
  • Confidence in using Tableau to build and maintain dashboards.
  • Comfortable working independently on ambiguous, open-ended data problems with a methodical and detail-oriented approach.
  • Clear communication skills, able to document logic and flag data issues for technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Python, dbt, Airflow, or AWS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MS Office in a professional setting is a plus.
