About the Role
Lead the Shop and drive the team as an Automotive Shop Manager at Lamb’s Tire & Automotive. This role is responsible for overall store performance, including financial and operational aspects, by establishing guest services, maximizing sales and profitability through expense control, human resource management, and managing operating costs.
Responsibilities
- Ensures each customer receives outstanding customer service by maintaining store standards, product knowledge, conducting call backs, meeting time commitments, and handling escalated customer complaints.
- Sets expectations and communicates regularly with employees on job responsibilities, goals, training, development, and customer service.
- Holds the management team accountable for job responsibilities, training, and goals by coaching or counseling employees.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures through regular meetings and store audits.
- Conducts performance evaluations for all employees at regular intervals.
- Analyzes and measures business trends; develops and implements plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed Sales and Profit targets.
- Reviews invoices and daily reports to identify business growth opportunities.
- Maintains proper controls over the Company’s physical and financial assets.
- Follows standard closing procedures including timely deposit of checks and cash.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the store, both front and back, at all times.
- Maintains housekeeping and merchandising standards to ensure customer comfort.
- Conducts regular inspections of equipment and requests maintenance as necessary.
- Ensures that all purchased, but unused parts are returned timely to the vendor and credits received are forwarded to accounting.
Requirements
- Five or more years of sales experience in an auto repair shop management position or equivalent business experience in the automotive industry.
- Previous experience in managing and coaching team members through effective communication.
- Business development and strategy implementation knowledge.
- Proven ability to develop and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual plans with clearly defined goals.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals.
- Previous experience as an Automotive Technician or similar position preferred, but not required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
