About the Role

The Sub-Prime Finance Manager specializes in securing financing for customers with non-prime and sub-prime credit profiles while delivering a transparent, compliant, and customer-centric experience. This role partners with the Sales team to structure deals, builds relationships with lenders, and presents tailored protection products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit applications and bureaus to structure deals meeting lender guidelines.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with sub-prime lenders and OEM finance partners.
  • Prepare accurate deal jackets and ensure all stipulations are satisfied to accelerate funding.
  • Transparently present and sell protection products aligned to customer needs.
  • Uphold dealership, OEM, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Provide clear explanations of finance terms and credit-rebuilding guidance to customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Management, and Accounting to ensure clean deal flow.
  • Track KPIs and implement action plans to improve performance results.
  • Manage special-finance leads and maintain CRM documentation.
  • Standardize processes and coach Sales staff on credit-profile discovery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to fraud or high-risk structures.
  • Mentor Sales Consultants on special-finance workflows.

Requirements

  • Proven success in automotive F&I with a focus on non-prime/sub-prime lending (2+ years).
  • Strong understanding of lender programs, credit tiers, and backend product allowances.
  • Excellent credit analysis, deal-desk, and negotiation skills.
  • High standards of ethics and compliance knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an empathetic approach.
  • Proficiency with DMS/CRM systems, lender portals, and office software.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma.
  • Licensing/registration for selling credit/insurance products as required by local or provincial regulations.
