About the Role

The Structural Design Coordinator is a 12-month contract role within the integrated project team, contributing structural engineering knowledge and analysis during the design phase. The role focuses on various building and non-building structures, with a significant emphasis on Data Centre projects. Responsibilities include conducting analyses, preparing cost estimates and specifications, performing routine engineering assignments, and creating structural drawings. This position offers opportunities for progression to Structural Engineer or technical specialization/project management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Demonstrate experience in structural drafting of all phases of the construction documents, and create structural drawings in AutoCAD and Revit from engineering sketches and instruction
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar software
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus, but not required
  • Skilled in using CAD software's such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Skilled in using any structural analytical program like SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RISA3D, RAM, and similar apps
  • Knowledge of engineering principles associated with building structural system for steel, concrete, and masonry structures
  • Past experience working with an Engineering firm
  • Independent learner who is capable of quickly learning new skills
  • Successful working in a team environment
  • Keen observer with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and listening skills, self-starter and able to coordinate work with other team members effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
  • Good organizational skills, confident curiosity, strong analytical judgment
  • Ability to rigorously audit, validate, and verify all AI-generated outputs (examples: technical correspondence and code interpretations) against core engineering fundamentals and regulations
