About the Role

The Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.
  • Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.
  • Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of P&C insurance experience, preferably underwriting in the high net worth space.
  • Comfortable owning a book of business.
  • Direct, empathetic communication is a staple in every aspect of your day, and you thrive on building connections with people.
  • Know how to gather and analyze all the data you’ll need to make a decision on a risk.
  • Work with pride and determination.
