About the Role
Geotab is seeking an RFP Manager to oversee the development of processes, proposals, bids, and quotations, with a special focus on the public sector in North America. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate and timely responses, content writing, proofreading, and editing. The position may also recommend product or service enhancements based on customer inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of processes, proposals, bids, quotations, or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective customers, with a special focus on the public sector in North America.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, engineering, finance, legal, and product teams to ensure content is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Manage the proposal/bid process, including content writing, proofreading, and editing.
- Recommend enhancements to Geotab products or services based on inquiries from prospective customers.
- Deliver competitive, high-quality proposals to Geotab prospects and customers, focusing on government customers at all levels.
- Consult, co-ordinate, and project manage Geotab resources for large-scale opportunities.
- Participate in the RFP life cycle: kick-off meetings, requirements analysis, strategy development, risk assessment/mitigation, and proposal creation.
- Ensure RFP requirements are reviewed and approved appropriately, and deadlines are communicated and met.
- Ensure approval procedures and processes are followed.
- Interact with various Geotab teams to ensure accuracy in business and technical responses.
- Maintain and add to the RFP content library.
- Transform business and technical product information into concise, easy-to-understand written material that highlights Geotab’s value proposition.
- Develop and write new content in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Lead and participate in RFX Team projects, such as Annual RFX Surveys, Quarterly RFX Activity Reports, and developing training presentations and materials.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience as an RFP Manager or in writing, editing, and coordinating responses to RFPs/RFIs.
- Extensive experience in government bids/proposals.
- Experience directly supporting a sales organization.
- Experience managing a library of information that can be accessed and used easily.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
- Able to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and respond to fast-changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent team player with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and collaborate with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for sales/marketing needs in a technical environment.
- Experience leveraging CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce), JIRA, and proposal management systems/tools (i.e., Loopio) required.
- Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through to completion.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve and make well-judged decisions.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
- Proof of eligibility to work.
- Ability to pass a background check.
