About the Role

Johnson Controls is seeking a professional to perform system commissioning, troubleshoot HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues, and respond to warranty calls. This role is crucial for ensuring building systems operate efficiently and precisely, supporting industries like data centers, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
  • Solves problems and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems.
  • Responds to basic warranty calls.
  • Loads system-level controller software.
  • Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices.
  • Completes all required commissioning documentation.
  • Keeps management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
  • Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
  • Completes administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
  • Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.

Requirements

  • Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
