About the Role
Be the first friendly face students meet as they begin their college journey! Working customer service in Fanshawe’s retail stores is an opportunity to help students feel welcomed, find the resources they need to succeed, and make a positive first impression of the college. You'll build valuable customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment during one of the most exciting times of the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Provides front-line customer support services including sales counter and floor duties.
- Performs related tasks such as telephone reception, receiving, recording, handling and distribution of books and merchandise.
Requirements
- Completion of some post-secondary education is required.
- Minimum one-year customer service and/or cash handling experience in a retail setting.
- Experience with a Point-of-Sale system is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required.
- Availability to work on Labour Day weekend and the first two weeks of September is a requirement.
