About the Role

The Nursing Academic Success Coach provides individualized and small-group academic support to nursing students, with primary responsibility for students supported by the Cabrini Grant. This role involves developing strategies for academic improvement, serving as a liaison, and delivering evidence-based coaching to promote student retention and success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide longitudinal academic coaching and support for Cabrini Scholars.
  • Teach a one-credit, graded, dedicated section of AVS 101 for Cabrini Scholars each fall.
  • Deliver individualized and small group tutoring in Anatomy & Physiology and nursing courses.
  • Analyze student performance and academic habits to identify challenges.
  • Develop and implement targeted remediation plans and SMART goals.
  • Meet regularly with students to review progress and document sessions.
  • Meet with students on academic probation or referred by faculty/E.A.S.E.
  • Refer students to appropriate campus resources.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, review sessions, and seminars for nursing students.
  • Identify gaps in support services and develop programs to address them.
  • Contribute to college-wide and nursing-specific retention initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Chair of the Nursing Department, Director of the Student Success Center, nursing faculty, and advisors.
  • Attend Student Success Center staff meetings and Nursing Department faculty meetings.
  • Collaborate with partner nursing school faculty and staff.
  • Utilize NCLEX preparation platforms (ATI, Kaplan) to identify students needing support.
  • Assist with grant-related activities, including data collection, reporting, and writing.
  • Maintain accurate records of Cabrini Scholar enrollment and engagement.
  • Assist in managing Anatomy and Physiology tutoring services.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Serve on committees and assist on special projects.
  • Demonstrate and role-model Le Moyne's mission-based competencies.
  • Strengthen digital literacy skills.
  • Treat all individuals with dignity, professionalism, and kindness.
  • Align professional goals with college's strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent work attendance, reliability, and work ethic.

  • Continually maintain skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry.
  • Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MS) required, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with significant experience in nursing education or academic coaching.
  • Active NYS Registered Nurse License in good standing required.
  • Previous experience tutoring Anatomy and Physiology is preferred.
  • Experience working directly with college students concerning academic success.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with campus contacts.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary/Compensations

  • $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
