About the Role
We are delivering the fit-out, refurbishment and alteration of a unique collection of listed buildings in central London. Our client requires strong commercial management that supports the Authority in its role of delivering modern workplace solutions, unique projects and complex programmes of work. To perform the role of Senior Cost Consultant, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large and complex commissions covering both private and public sector clients. To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, business cases and write procurement reports.
- Apply value management techniques at the outset of a project.
- Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting the final cost plan.
- Manage the procurement process, ensuring all stages are performed effectively.
- Ensure post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
- Ensure cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
- Attend meetings and participate actively.
- Perform value engineering and life cycle costing.
- Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Act as a key interface with the client and other consultants.
- Undertake marketing and business development duties within your sector of experience.
- Perform line management and recruitment duties.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- NEC Contract experience.
- Good negotiating, influencing, and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Good working knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting, and financial modelling.
