About the Role
Seeking a live-in companion and personal assistant for an independent lady with early-stage dementia. The role focuses on providing companionship, managing appointments, and assisting with daily activities while fostering independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Accompany the principal to appointments such as medical, beauty treatments, and other engagements.
- Suggest and accompany the principal on outings to cultural events, exhibitions, and theatre shows.
- Provide reassurance and guidance when the daily routine needs to change.
- Prepare healthy, nutritious, and balanced suppers without processed foods.
- Manage household expenses and bills, and liaise with contractors.
- Run occasional errands.
- Facilitate daily engagement through conversation, reading, and interactive activities.
- Be a calming and involved presence, providing stimulation and encouraging independence.
- Foster companionship and well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including dishwasher loading/unloading, kitchen tidiness, laundry, and general home organization.
- Provide some care for two friendly dogs.
