About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all steps of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at collection sites.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors.
  • Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.
  • Connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to foster a welcoming environment for donors.
  • Ensure collected blood meets goals and regulatory requirements for safe transfusion.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles and set up/tear down equipment at donation sites.
  • Work as a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
  • Good manual dexterity, ability to sit or stand for long periods, and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.
  • Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
