About the Role
VERG-Brooklyn is seeking a Veterinary Technician for their Internal Medicine Department. Join a premier, state-of-the-art 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital that fosters a supportive environment where technicians can utilize their full skillset and grow their careers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, including GI, nasal, and airway scopes.
- Assist with advanced radiology tasks.
- Perform intravenous catheter placements.
- Assist with endotracheal intubations and anesthetic inductions.
- Manage the setup, cleaning, and maintenance of specialized scope equipment.
- Communicate patient updates, lab results, and treatment plans to pet owners.
- Manage patient discharges.
- Educate clients on at-home care, including subcutaneous fluid administration, insulin injections, and feeding tube management.
Requirements
- Skilled in advanced technical nursing (IV catheters, anesthetic induction/intubation, diagnostics).
- Strong, detail-oriented work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for client communication.
- Desire to learn, work hard, and advance veterinary technician skillset.
