About the Role
The AVL Installation Technician plays a key role in supporting installation projects, training clients post-installation, and providing ongoing support. This position involves hands-on installation tasks, technical configuration, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service. A strong applicant can be flexible, troubleshoot efficiently, and positively represent MediaNet AV.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site technical reviews before installation to create custom training guides for clients.
- Review system designs and Statements of Work (SOWs) for project preparation.
- Program system components, including Q-SYS, Extron, Nyquist, and IP products (Dante, Netgear).
- Configure rack enclosures, cable management, and equipment as per system design.
- Thoroughly review system designs for functionality and accuracy.
- Assist with cable scheduling, planning, and on-site installation tasks.
- Complete installation task lists, which may include cable management, termination, and configurations.
- Take weekly inventory of supplies in vans and warehouse.
- Allocate project inventory to vans and job sites.
- Respond to customer phone calls and emails promptly.
- Provide preliminary configuration of rack enclosures and equipment.
- Read and execute detailed project schematics and cable schedules.
- Provide comprehensive system training to clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Offer hands-on training and on-site assistance.
- Ensure all tasks on the job site are completed and the area is tidy and clean before closing out documents.
- Set monthly and yearly personal development goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements
- Strong technical skills with experience in AV installations, including IP systems and cable management.
- Effective communication skills for client training and technical support.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Detail-oriented and proactive in ensuring client satisfaction.
- Extron/Dante training will be required within the first 6 months.
