About the Role
Trillium Health Partners is seeking a Food Service Representative to join their Nutrition and Food Services department. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate food delivery to patients, contributing to their overall well-being and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Tray delivery to units
- Nourishment delivery to patients’ room
- Transportation of patient food carts to and from patient care unit
- Meal service (meal tray assembly)
- Portion hot beverages
- Work in dish room/ cleaning duties
- Clean pots/ collect garbage, sanitize garbage containers, clean up spills
- Performs other related duties as required
Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Mandatory, valid food handlers’ certificate
- Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks
- Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Customer service skills essential
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A positive work and attendance record is essential
Skills
- Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) an asset
- Previous hospital experience working in Nutrition & Food Services an asset
- Effective verbal/written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and write
- Physical strength to meet job requirements
- Considerable walking, lifting, standing and bending
- Concentration with attention to detail
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperature environments
