About the Role

Provide diagnostic, preventive, and corrective dental services at a high level of quality and efficacy. This role involves administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation in the electronic dental record while ensuring compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
  • Provide preventive and corrective dental services.
  • Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.
  • Analyze and evaluate dental needs to determine changes and trends in patterns of dental disease.
  • Formulate and present periodontal, restorative, and maintenance treatment plans to patients.
  • Administer anesthetics for pain control.
  • Design, prepare, and fit prosthodontic appliances such as crowns, bridges, and removable dentures.
  • Perform simple and surgical tooth extractions.
  • Perform Root Canal Therapy on anterior, premolar, and selected molar teeth.
  • Perform basic restorative procedures including composite and amalgam fillings.
  • Prescribe medications as needed to control disease and alleviate pain.
  • Follow universal precautions in compliance with OSHA safety standards to protect from infectious diseases.
  • Communicate accurately and timely in the electronic dental record with all sub-departments involved in patient’s care.
  • Participate in Dental Center improvements geared towards operational excellence.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by Administrator, Clinical Manager and Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Documentation of current HBV vaccination status.
  • Current Professional Liability Insurance with 1M/3M coverage.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to effectively communicate simple and complex health issues in a caring and professional manner.
  • Strong and consistent commitment to improving the oral health of the patient.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player.
  • Outstanding work ethic and employment record (including attendance and punctuality).
  • Computer skills must include Word, Excel, and ability to provide accurate and timely documentation in an electronic dental record.
  • Ability and technical expertise to analyze, assess, recommend, and implement solutions to complex issues or problems with a minimum of supervisory intervention.
  • Ability to appropriately set goals, objectives, and priorities based upon the organizational mission, vision, and values within his/her scope of services, and that of his/her department or service component.
