About the Role

The Site Director provides visionary leadership and operational oversight of the Grand Bridge Tech Center (GBTC), a premier multi-generational technology and innovation hub. This role oversees DYCD COMPASS-funded programming, leads the development of innovative community-responsive programs, builds strategic partnerships, supervises staff, and ensures program excellence and regulatory compliance. The goal is to advance Grand St. Settlement's mission by empowering neighbors, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for individuals of all ages to learn, connect, and thrive.

Responsibilities

Provide visionary leadership for the Grand Bridge Tech Center, positioning it as a flagship destination for technology, innovation, STEAM education, digital equity, workforce development, and community engagement.
Direct the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of Center operations, ensuring alignment with Grand St. Settlement's mission and strategic priorities.
Oversee all DYCD COMPASS-funded after-school, holiday, and summer programming, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards.
Develop, implement, and enhance innovative programming for youth, adults, older adults, and families in areas such as STEAM, digital literacy, and workforce readiness.
Design and coordinate multi-generational programming that promotes lifelong learning and community connections.
Develop and implement outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies.
Partner with schools and educators to align after-school programming with school-day learning objectives.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment.
Collaborate with social workers, mentors, and community partners to coordinate wraparound services.
Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate full-time and part-time staff, interns, and volunteers.
Establish measurable program outcomes and utilize data for continuous quality improvement.
Build and sustain strategic partnerships with various organizations to expand educational and career opportunities.
Coordinate programming with resident and partner organizations within the Grand Bridge Tech Center.
Develop and oversee the Center's annual programming calendar.
Champion the Grand Bridge Tech Center as a neighborhood innovation hub.
Represent Grand St. Settlement and the Grand Bridge Tech Center with funders, officials, and partners.
Collaborate across agency departments to leverage resources and advance organizational priorities.
Provide leadership for the daily operations of the Grand Bridge Tech Center, ensuring efficient facility management and program delivery.
Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, DYCD regulations, and applicable standards.
Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets, expenditures, grants, and fiscal resources.
Maintain quality assurance through accurate and timely reporting of data.
Monitor enrollment, attendance, and performance indicators to ensure contractual obligations are met.
Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, attendance, data management, and recordkeeping.
Coordinate staffing plans, supervision, scheduling, facility utilization, and operational logistics.
Conduct regular staff supervision, team meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Oversee the planning and execution of site-wide events and activities.
Prepare operational reports, grant updates, and performance dashboards.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all funded programs and activities.
Work collaboratively with facilities staff and vendors to ensure the Center is safe and functional.
Establish and maintain effective communication with agency leadership, partners, and stakeholders.
Support agency-wide strategic planning and cross-departmental initiatives.
Perform other administrative and leadership responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain and follow up with the custodian to ensure timely response to facility issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required
At least three (3) years of experience working in a community center or school-based after-school program
At least two years of supervisory experience
Required to obtain a SACC Program Director's (30-hour) credentials
Ability to work independently, assess priorities, and take initiative
Effective oral, written, and collaborative skills
Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and implementation of structured programming for elementary school students
Familiarity with Program Budgeting and fiscal management is a plus
Familiarity with DYCD Online and database management is a plus
Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout employment
Experience working with students in urban school and/or community-based settings
Must be computer literate
Capacity to thrive under pressure while working on multiple tasks and projects
Spanish speaking is a plus
Must be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with school administration and personnel
Knowledge of the public education system and positive youth development best practices
Strong public speaking, writing, and organizational skills
Must demonstrate knowledge in New York State Learning Standards
Knowledge in STEM, Health & Sexuality, Careers & Life Planning, Sports & Adventure, and Academic Enrichment highly desirable
Trained/experienced in supporting common mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse

Work Type

School Year: Monday – Friday; 10:30 a.m. – 6:30 pm OR 11 am - 7 pm, some evenings & Saturdays. Summer: 8 am – 4 pm or 10 am - 6 pm
