About the Role
The Front Desk Program Specialist enhances the reputation of AHF/Thursday’s Child by being the first point of engagement for clients visiting the office, ensuring their needs for services are addressed timely and within a friendly environment. You will be a passionate advocate for our top initiatives, keeping AHF Core Values and Mission top of mind.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients as they enter the lobby
- Answer the general phone line
- Transfer incoming calls to different service lines
- Track requests for services
- Assist to fulfill client requests for assistance
- Record all incoming requests for direct services on a tracking sheet
- Complete program paperwork
- Provide assistance (distribution of vouchers for food, clothing, transportation, or supply packages) to clients
- Assist the team with other initiatives and special projects, such as the annual Holiday Magic Program, Pride events, and World AIDS Day events
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish-speaking fluency required for verbal and written translations
- NYS HIV Peer Certified (or in the process of obtaining certification) are highly encouraged to apply
