About the Role
Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a talented and experienced Welder to join our Team. The Welder will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components and structures according to drawings and specifications.
- Repair and maintain bins, containers and other equipment using welding and fabrication techniques.
- Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and arc welders to join metal parts.
- Use cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other tools to shape and cut metal accurately.
- Work with designated compressed gases and cylinders (oxygen, propane, or argon).
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine layout and welding requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during welding and fabrication tasks.
- Coordinate with supervisor to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of welding equipment and machinery.
- Assist with material handling and inventory management.
- Adhere to environmental regulations and guidelines when disposing of materials and waste.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of fabricating/welding experience.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical DC voltage.
- Must have a valid work permit unless Canadian Citizen or permanent resident.
