About the Role

Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a talented and experienced Welder to join our Team. The Welder will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate metal components and structures according to drawings and specifications.
  • Repair and maintain bins, containers and other equipment using welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and arc welders to join metal parts.
  • Use cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other tools to shape and cut metal accurately.
  • Work with designated compressed gases and cylinders (oxygen, propane, or argon).
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine layout and welding requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Coordinate with supervisor to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of welding equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with material handling and inventory management.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and guidelines when disposing of materials and waste.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of fabricating/welding experience.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical DC voltage.
  • Must have a valid work permit unless Canadian Citizen or permanent resident.
