About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for planning and organising activities for all residents, supporting their social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. This role involves delivering physical, psychological, and social care to elderly residents and assisting in the organisation of individual, group, and fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build friendships with residents to help them adjust to life in a care home.
  • Deliver a high level of personal and psychological care professionally.
  • Maintain good communication with management, colleagues, and relatives for smooth operations.
  • Support team working within the home.
  • Complete required records to a satisfactory standard, agreeing on record-keeping with the manager monthly.
  • Safeguard individual rights of residents and staff in accordance with the Home’s philosophy of care.
  • Maintain client, staff, and business confidentiality at all times.
  • Plan daytime and evening activities.
  • Maintain awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Coordinate the activities program with other facility services.
  • Assess resident needs and develop resident activities goals for the written care plan.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes.
  • Work individually and within the team to provide necessary backup for all staff.
  • Maintain high levels of communication within teams, with colleagues, and residents.
  • Carry out any additional duties as requested.
  • Undertake additional training and development programs as appropriate.

Requirements

  • A flexible approach is required due to the need for additional hours for outings and events.
  • Must be aware of working practices and activities being actioned to safeguard rights.
  • Must maintain client and business confidentiality.
