About the Role
The Vice President of Operations provides executive leadership and management for Benchmark communities, setting the people strategy to achieve operational goals. This role drives innovation in processes and systems to enhance people development and operational efficiency, fostering a culture of excellence and a great place to work.
Responsibilities
- Identifies business trends and collaborates with senior management, operations, and sales teams to develop and monitor strategies.
- Analyzes business reports, including labor, expense, occupancy, and sales data.
- Provides flash forecasts for community operational results.
- Forecasts monthly and quarterly P&L statements.
- Conducts periodic reviews of community-specific P&L statements.
- Manages and leads net operating income by understanding and demonstrating operating efficiencies and expense control.
- Develops and implements annual operating and capital budgets.
- Tracks capital expenditure budget balances.
- Identifies and analyzes group purchasing possibilities.
- Presents operating results to senior management and develops action plans to enhance performance.
- Serves as a liaison between the field and senior management.
- Researches root causes of problems and develops resolution plans.
- Responds to and communicates effectively during crisis situations.
- Develops talent by mentoring Regional Directors of Operations, Executive Directors, and Senior Executive Directors.
- Recruits at all levels of the organization.
- Participates in and encourages leadership development.
- Manages employee performance through reviews, action plans, and progressive discipline.
- Implements and adheres to training programs and processes.
- Champions corporate growth initiatives.
- Manages succession planning.
- Builds strategic partnerships with vendors and aligns company goals with third-party providers.
- Develops strategies to enhance resident experience and drive business results.
- Possesses knowledge of growing strategic care platforms.
- Continuously seeks innovative approaches to organizational challenges.
- Maintains effectiveness during changes in the work environment.
- Provides strategic leadership and addresses key strategic challenges.
- Defines, establishes, and implements strategies to improve functional area business results.
- Establishes and commits to long-range courses of action based on factual analysis, assumptions, resources, constraints, and organizational values.
Requirements
- Must have Sr. Living Experience.
- Possesses an operational knowledge of all departments in an Assisted Living community.
- Demonstrates financial acumen by reviewing financial information and developing strategies to improve performance.
- Possesses human resource skills, including knowledge of management and labor law.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the senior living environment, including regulations and OSHA.
- Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, database managers, and presentation software.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, employees, staff, and the community.
