About the Role

Pacific Life Re is undergoing a finance transformation program to standardize systems and platforms globally. This role will support the Financial Reporting workstream, collaborating with the core team on system and process changes to achieve project objectives. Key outcomes include standardizing reporting, automating processes, and improving cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Create various reports for management and stakeholders related to finance projects.
  • Clean up and prepare financial data for opening balance conversion.
  • Analyze financial data and transactions to identify process improvements and system utilization.
  • Liaise with global offices and auditors.
  • Analyze large financial data sets across legal entities, accounting bases, and fiscal years.
  • Prepare and recreate reports and working files under dual accounting systems for testing and validation.
  • Assist other finance areas with accounting and ad hoc projects.
  • Support other financial projects and ad hoc tasks.
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of the Finance Transformation & Corporate Restructure project.
  • Own and execute steps on the project plan, communicate, and document conclusions.
  • Prepare and execute test scripts and document conclusions.
  • Document interfaces, reports, workflows, configuration, presentations, and forms.
  • Identify and document business requirements and test cases for system testing.
  • Plan, execute, and document test scripts for pre-go-live testing.
  • Maintain up-to-date system documentation of processes and functionality, including end-user manuals.
  • Develop materials to explain project status, conclusions, and decisions.
  • Develop training materials for changes to reporting.
  • Train users on new and existing processes.
  • Manage and participate in various ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least two years’ experience in accounting or finance with core exposure to financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proven experience working with finance systems (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar) and transformation initiatives.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and efficient in managing time and workload, including adapting to global working hours.
  • Ability to deal with non-standard tasks and requests.
  • Excellent business writing and documentation skills.
