About the Role
iCapital is launching a new business line focused on '34 Act Registered Funds and seeks a Product Manager to own the product lifecycle for these funds, acting as the central point of contact for operational aspects and ensuring a seamless client experience in partnership with the Relationship Manager.
Responsibilities
- Co-manage fund launch project plans with the Fund Origination team, ensuring timely milestone completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational, administrative, and technical aspects of the GP's '34 Act fund(s).
- Collaborate with the GP's Relationship Manager to deliver a coordinated and comprehensive service experience.
- Act as the primary liaison between the GP and internal iCapital teams (Fund Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Technology) for ongoing fund operations.
- Coordinate between the GP client and their distribution partners, ensuring operational readiness and facilitating information flow.
- Coordinate the internal review of fund documents (PPM, LPA, Form 10) for operational feasibility.
- Oversee the configuration of the fund on the iCapital platform, including share classes, fee structures, and reporting.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with internal teams to validate platform workflows.
- Provide clients with market intelligence on '34 Act fund trends and best practices.
- Maintain a risk and issue log for each fund launch and contribute to operational playbook improvements.
Requirements
- 5 - 9+ years of experience in product management, project management, or a client-facing fund operations role within financial services.
- Deep understanding of alternative investment products and fund structures.
- Direct experience with registered funds (e.g., interval funds, tender offer funds, BDCs) or private funds with complex operational requirements is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with software and technology platforms used in alternative investments, wealth management, and fund services.
- Ability to develop an intimate understanding of the iCapital system and its relation to administrators, custodians, and transfer agents.
- Familiarity with the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, including SEC filings, is a significant plus.
- Proven ability to manage sophisticated institutional client relationships.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at managing competing priorities.
- Team player able to navigate a complex ecosystem and work effectively across internal teams and external client relationships.
- Direct experience in an investor services or investor relations role at a General Partner (GP) or alternative investment fund.
