This role combines Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Developer Experience, and DevSecOps, focusing on building and maintaining foundational systems, tools, and practices to enable efficient, secure, and reliable software delivery. The mission is to create a seamless path from code to production, prioritizing developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP using Terraform and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).
  • Improve observability, reliability, and performance of cloud services.
  • Contribute to building pipelines, tooling, and internal platforms for fast, safe, and automated product delivery.
  • Enhance developer experience through self-service tooling, standardisation, and streamlined workflows.
  • Support reliability and scalability using SRE principles, including incident response and SLI/SLO/SLA monitoring.
  • Embed security practices into the engineering lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
  • Support the management of secrets, credentials, and identity access controls.
  • Enforce compliance through automated policies.
  • Monitor, triage, and respond to security events in collaboration with the Information Security team.
  • Support a strong security posture through vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and threat modelling.
  • Maintain a high quality bar through testing, automation, discipline, consistency, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and support junior engineers.
  • Actively grow technical and architectural skills.
  • Maintain infrastructure and tooling for AI/ML capabilities, including Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, and LLM observability tooling.

Requirements

  • Experience working in engineering teams building a customer-focused SaaS product.
  • 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles.
  • Good working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), managed services, and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform or similar).
  • Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Containers, ECS, Kubernetes a plus).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Bash).
  • A background in software engineering is a major plus.
  • Experience building or maintaining CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions preferable, ArgoCD etc).
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging stacks (Grafana stack: Prometheus, Loki, Tempo; plus OpenTelemetry).
  • A working understanding of networking and distributed systems.
  • A working understanding of security and an interest in DevSecOps.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and tackle problems that aren't always well-defined.
  • A keen sense of curiosity, with a natural drive to learn and grow.
  • Passion to work collaboratively with others.
