About the Role

We're hiring a Community Intern in San Francisco to work directly with our Community Lead and Head of Marketing, running the systems behind our events and online community, and helping scale our global ambassador program as we launch in cities around the world. This is a hands-on, in-the-mix role with real ownership from week one. You'll be in the room for how a community-led AI company grows: in person at SF events, and online across Discord, Facebook, and every city chapter we open. If you're excited about AI, small businesses, and bringing people together, on your feet at an event and behind the dashboard that tracks it, keep reading.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage Luma event pages, track RSVPs, and run check-in and on-site logistics at SF events, workshops, and mixers.
  • Help run Discord and Facebook groups day to day, including welcoming new members, answering questions, routing product issues, and maintaining healthy conversations.
  • Respond to members across channels, flag standout builders, stories, and use cases.
  • Record product walkthroughs and demos, and co-host livestreams or builder interviews.
  • Maintain community trackers and dashboards for event attendance, signups, Discord growth, engagement, and UGC.
  • Source, screen, and interview ambassador candidates.
  • Review applications, run first-round calls, and prepare recommendations for the Community Lead.
  • Onboard new city leads with agreements, Slack setup, playbook walkthroughs, and event calendars.
  • Support new city leads through their first events.
  • Curate and maintain the global events playbook with templates, checklists, and best practices.
  • Track ambassador events worldwide, including recaps, reports, metrics, and content.
  • Capture photos, clips, and stories at SF events, and collect UGC from global chapters.

Requirements

  • Genuinely interested in AI, startups, and small business.
  • Curious about how non-technical people build with AI.
  • A builder who has created apps or sites and enjoys showing others what's possible.
  • Comfortable on camera for recording walkthroughs, livestreams, or interviews.
  • A strong, friendly writer capable of matching community tone.
  • Clear communicator on calls with global candidates and leads.
  • Organized and reliable, able to keep trackers current and manage multiple timelines.
  • A process thinker who can identify successful event elements and turn them into repeatable checklists.
  • People-oriented and comfortable working at events.
  • Based in the SF Bay Area and able to work in person at HQ.
  • Experience running or moderating an online community (Discord, Reddit, Facebook groups, campus clubs) is a plus.
  • Event planning, campus organizing, or chapter/club leadership experience is a plus.
  • Interviewing, recruiting, or admissions experience is a plus.
  • Experience building something on Emergent or another non-technical coding platform is a plus.
  • Short-form video or streaming experience (Canva, CapCut, OBS, TikTok/YouTube) is a plus.
  • Must not want to sit behind a screen all day.
  • Must be based in SF and able to work in person.
  • Must be comfortable helping to define processes.
  • Must be using AI tools and building as part of your work.
