About the Role

A global enterprise platform provider seeks an exceptional Technical Architect / Lead Engineer to join their Professional Services division in Tokyo. This customer-facing role involves guiding major clients and SIs through complex, long-term ecosystem implementations, requiring strong technical design, OOP depth, and client negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical integration by collaborating with clients to define requirements, address bottlenecks, align designs with business goals, and author integration blueprints.
  • Architect scalable and secure system integrations linking the cloud-native platform with legacy environments using enterprise frameworks.
  • Manage enterprise data flow integrity and real-time data movement between core applications and external systems.
  • Drive innovation through agile Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives to validate integration approaches and demonstrate technical capability.
  • Act as a strategic feedback bridge, representing the client to internal engineering and product management teams, sharing regional product feedback.

Requirements

  • Native/Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) with understanding of Japanese business practices.
  • Professional English skills (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of combined experience in hands-on software development and IT consulting (minimum 3 years in each).
  • Demonstrated success as a technical lead for large-scale enterprise deployments, managing the full lifecycle.
  • 2+ years of hands-on object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, C#).
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases.
  • Solid exposure to major cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
  • Prior experience as the primary technical point of contact for clients post-go-live support, including upgrades and optimizations.
