About the Role
Aon is seeking a Head of Total Rewards, Asia Pacific to contribute to the formulation and design of Aon’s Total Rewards (TR) strategy. This role will lead the design, implementation, regulatory compliance, communication, and administration of TR programs at the regional level, in partnership with global and regional stakeholders. You will report into the Vice President, Compensation and helix reporting line to the Chief People Officer, Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
- Tailor Aon’s TR Strategy and programs to regional requirements and supplement with regional programs and solutions.
- Lead the implementation of the TR strategy and agenda consistently across the region.
- Maintain and encourage expertise in TR.
- Handle program design, consultation, program delivery, and resolve escalated employee/manager issues.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for leading practices in TR, and develop future legislation and market trends.
- Review pay structure and benefit programs for alignment with Aon reward philosophy, objectives, and market requirements; adjust programs as appropriate.
- Lead regional TR programs and benchmark them regularly to remain competitive.
- Partner with the Global Centre of Excellence (COE) to analyze TR programs against comparable industries and benchmark data.
- Develop programs or recommend changes to existing programs to establish and maintain competitive benefits positioning and ensure internal equity and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure regional TR programs are current regarding trends, practices, and costs, and align with overall company philosophy on market competitiveness.
- Maintain knowledge of government regulations/legislation influencing regional TR.
- Build and lead pay structures within the region.
- Track and lead senior executive compensation.
- Train and educate HR and the business on Aon’s pay philosophy and practices.
- Identify and evaluate rewards in labor market trends.
- Evaluate TR external vendors.
- Lead the TR team, enabling them to accomplish annual goals and objectives while providing developmental opportunities.
- Adapt global TR strategy and processes across the region, ensuring alignment across countries as appropriate.
- Establish success criteria and assess performance of TR solutions and programs.
- Provide TR content and direction to People Organisation Partners and People Operations for program implementations in the region/countries.
- Develop regional TR policies in partnership with the Global TR COE (e.g., Asia Pacific local plus policies for global mobility).
- Act as a point of escalation for TR program and policy exceptions.
- Regularly liaise with other regional and global TR resources to ensure alignment and maintain a shared culture and understanding of decisions.
- Provide global TR oversight/guidance for countries during renewal processes on how to provide more strategic TR advisory to customers.
- Collaborate with functional resources (e.g., IT, Global COEs, HRBP, HR Operations, region/country HR leaders).
- Partner with HRBPs to tailor aligned TR programs to specific business needs.
- Act as a trusted, senior TR advisor to Business Leaders, Finance, and HR on regional benefits issues, policies, standard methodologies, and processes.
Requirements
- Developed subject matter expertise in total rewards, executive compensation and governance (as applicable), with an ability to demonstrate this knowledge to gain instant credibility.
- Worked in or led the total rewards function of a large multinational organisation with similar size and complexity to Aon.
- Prior experience effectively leading an experienced team, including mentoring and developing key and diverse talent.
- Understands the balance between excellence versus precision.
- Creative and curious thinker who brings innovative ideas, new perspectives and passion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and relationship skills.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
