About the Role
Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and contribute to one of the UK's most significant megaprojects, playing a crucial role in the nation's energy future and climate change agenda. Sizewell C will generate low-carbon electricity for approximately 6 million homes for at least 60 years.
Responsibilities
- Undertake site inspections of contractors' work areas, reporting observations and environmental issues.
- Provide written and verbal advice on environmental legislation, permits, and planning constraints.
- Review contractor environmental management plans and RAMs for compliance with regulations and standards.
- Support self-assessment and internal audits of site activities for compliance.
- Support and lead investigations of environmental incidents, providing reports and recommendations.
- Recognize contractual issues and escalate them to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager.
Requirements
- Experience in an Environmental Management role on a dynamic, site-based construction or industrial project.
- Detailed knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to construction or industrial installations, including supporting guidance and best practices.
- Awareness of client/contractor relationships and legal responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Ability to work independently with excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Experience operating within an environmental management system (EMS) conforming to BS EN ISO14001:2004.
