About the Role

Lead the planning, governance, and delivery of complex airport projects from concept through commissioning in Japan. Serve as Capture Team Lead to develop winning strategies and secure new business opportunities. Drive business growth across Japan and the Asia region by strengthening customer relationships and expanding market opportunities. Establish a proactive customer support framework and apply PMI project management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, governance, and delivery of complex airport projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and achieving project targets for scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk management across Japan.
  • Serve as Capture Team Lead in support of the Japan Sales Team, developing winning strategies, leading customer engagements and executive presentations, and coordinating cross-functional proposal activities to secure new business opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary project teams, establishing clear objectives, monitoring performance, and ensuring effective coordination, resource utilization, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Drive business growth across Japan and time to time the Asia region by representing assigned airport projects and services, strengthening strategic customer relationships, and partnering with account management and business development teams to expand market opportunities.
  • Develop and execute project communication, training, and implementation strategies to ensure successful Project delivery.
  • Lead the implementation of customer requirements and project changes through structured project change control management processes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, project schedules, and quality standards.
  • Establish a proactive customer support framework by providing technical leadership, resolving complex operational issues, and driving continuous improvement to enhance customer satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
  • Apply PMI project management principles to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolve critical issues, manage change effectively, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Capture and analyze customer business requirements, identify service gaps and emerging market trends, and translate customer insights into strategic recommendations that support product development and business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, effective governance, and successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the aviation industry, successfully leading the delivery and implementation of Airport Passenger Processing Systems (PPS), Self-Service Kiosks (SSK), Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Airport Operational Database (AODB), and Self Bag Drop (SBD) solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience, with a proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary technical and project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, monitor, control, and report project performance across technical, schedule, cost, quality, and risk management metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proficient in developing, managing, and maintaining integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera P6, including resource planning, critical path analysis, and progress reporting.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to provide strategic leadership, make sound commercial decisions, and drive operational excellence within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills in English and the local language, with the ability to influence executive and technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically for up to 40% of the time to support customer engagements, project delivery, and business development activities.
