About the Role
GLG’s Events Associate will leverage the GLG Network to facilitate small and mid-size group meetings, roundtables, seminars, and virtual events. This role focuses on the ideation, development, and programming of events connecting experts with business and investment leaders in Asia Pacific, particularly Australia.
Responsibilities
- Ideate event topics individually and collaboratively with the Sydney client-facing team, targeting Australian and APAC business and institutional investors.
- Craft content for event materials, including key discussion points and descriptive copy.
- Source and liaise with appropriate event speakers from within and outside GLG’s network.
- Host and moderate small group events and panel discussions.
- Manage the operational and logistical aspects of multiple meetings and events in Asia.
- Assist in the planning and organization of industry events from conceptualization to completion.
- Provide team administrative support.
- Assist in implementing marketing plans and promotional activities.
- Lead internal teams engaged in multiple meetings and event projects.
- Adhere to process standards and demonstrate strong decision-making abilities.
- Manage speakers, internal teams, and client participation directly and collaboratively.
- Provide client-facing customer service with effective and professional oral and written communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier college or university, or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years.
- Demonstrated interest and/or robust understanding of global and Australian business and economic developments and issues.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities effectively, managing multiple meetings and events simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong copyediting skills.
- Proven ability and track record of working in a rigorous, fast-moving work and team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities in a business-focused setting.
- High levels of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel and Word) and other database and technology tools.
- Act with the highest integrity and professionalism.
