About the Role

As an Associate within AECOM’s London Project Management Team, you will lead and manage large-scale built environment and construction projects from initiation to completion. You will guide junior team members, contribute to business initiatives, and deliver complex projects with significant heritage, fit-out, infrastructure, and engineering features. Your role involves overseeing project phases, guiding junior staff, and managing client and consultant relationships, while also supporting business development and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive project delivery to meet time, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Foster collaboration among clients, consultants, contractors, and team members.
  • Take responsibility for service delivery on large-scale projects.
  • Strengthen client relationships by delivering exceptional service.
  • Align project outcomes with client objectives and contribute to business growth.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in their career development.
  • Contribute to talent development initiatives and champion a positive team culture.
  • Support bids and business development activities.
  • Engage with industry forums and networking events.
  • Take ownership of professional growth and knowledge-sharing.
  • Manage more junior resources on projects.
  • Contribute to the development of best-practice project management approaches.
  • Support the development of colleagues, particularly towards professional qualifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to satisfy clearance checks as required by UK Central government bodies.
  • Substantial experience and technical knowledge in project management within the built environment or construction industry.
  • Experience managing projects with minimal supervision; self-directed and experienced in project delivery.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple or major projects, workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and client relationship expertise.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality consulting services and comfortable in the role of consultant.
  • Be proactive, solution-oriented and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to be involved in team management functions, including line management and business development.
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
