About the Role
The Risk, Safety, Health and Environment Manager plays a critical role in protecting Diageo Australia’s people, operations and supply network. This role leads the SHE and supply risk agenda across manufacturing and supply operations, ensuring our sites operate safely, compliantly, sustainably, and with strong risk controls in place. Working closely with Supply leaders, site leadership teams and cross-functional stakeholders, you will drive a proactive safety culture, strengthen environmental and compliance performance, and build robust risk and business continuity practices across the network.
Responsibilities
- Lead the SHE strategy, governance framework and improvement agenda across Diageo Australia Supply, ensuring alignment with legal requirements, global standards and operational priorities.
- Own supply risk management and business continuity planning across manufacturing, warehousing, logistics interfaces and contractor operations, ensuring critical risks are identified, controlled and regularly reviewed.
- Drive a proactive safety culture by coaching leaders and teams on hazard identification, critical risk management, safe work practices and incident prevention.
- Oversee environmental compliance and performance across supply operations, including permits, reporting, waste, water, emissions, pollution prevention and environmental risk management.
- Lead incident management, investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring findings are embedded and risks are effectively addressed.
- Strengthen contractor safety, audit readiness, compliance assurance and SHE governance routines across multiple sites and operational teams.
- Use SHE data, risk insights and performance trends to drive continuous improvement, improve decision-making and support safer, more resilient operations.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Safety, Health and Environment, WHS, operational risk, supply risk or governance roles within manufacturing, FMCG, beverage, food, logistics, warehousing or similar operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental compliance requirements, risk management, incident investigation and critical risk controls.
- Experience leading audits, inspections, corrective actions, risk assessments and SHE improvement initiatives across operational sites.
- Proven ability to influence and partner with operational leaders, frontline teams, contractors and cross-functional stakeholders to build strong safety and risk practices.
- Experience developing or supporting business continuity, emergency response and crisis preparedness plans.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into practical operational actions.
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science, Risk or a related field will be highly regarded, along with experience in contractor safety, high-risk work, environmental reporting or regulated manufacturing environments.
