About the Role
The Patient Accounts Assistant provides high-quality administrative and financial support to the Patient Accounts team. This role focuses on daily financial administration, prompt query resolution, and workflow management, with a clear professional development pathway to master health fund billing and provide comprehensive team coverage.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily banking, reconcile patient and hospital accounts, and manage the daily batching of incidental costs.
- Action incoming emails and professionally manage telephone inquiries from patients, health funds, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and action the ECLIPSE queue to ensure efficient electronic health fund claiming and processing.
- Actively learn end-to-end health fund billing practices to progressively assist and provide backup to the broader accounts team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in medical administration, patient accounts, or basic bookkeeping/reconciliation.
- Familiarity with medical billing systems or exposure to the ECLIPSE platform is highly advantageous.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive willingness to learn complex health fund billing.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach to phone and email inquiries.
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
- Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
