About the Role
Texas Western Hospitality is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the hotel's Sales department. This role is responsible for achieving individual booking goals, property revenue goals, and ensuring guest and team member satisfaction. The Director of Sales will build long-term customer relationships and implement sales and marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop sales goals and strategies aligned with the brand's business strategy.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, coaching, and support to sales associates.
- Execute the sales strategy and ensure individual booking goals are met.
- Coach leaders of revenue-generating departments on effective revenue strategies and goal setting.
- Ensure the development of a strategic account plan for market demand generators.
- Focus on proactive and reactive selling with individual and group goals.
- Provide customer intelligence by evaluating market and economic trends to adjust sales strategies.
- Develop strong partnerships with local organizations to increase brand awareness.
- Review STAR reports and competitive shopping reports to understand market position.
- Research competitor sales team strategies to grow occupancy, RevPAR, and market share.
- Attend sales strategy meetings and provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.
- Suggest innovative marketing ideas and develop deployment strategies to grow market share.
- Serve as the sales contact for the General Manager, property leadership, Regional Sales leaders, and guests.
- Act as the hotel authority on sales processes and sales contracts.
- Develop community and public relations through participation in trade shows and client events.
- Participate in sales calls with the General Manager.
- Execute operational aspects of business booked, including proposals, contracts, and correspondence.
- Provide exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills relative to impact on hotel revenues.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and ethical.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience as a Director of Sales required (preferred hospitality industry).
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle to meet with clients.
- Must be able to effectively lead and motivate a team.
