About the Role
The Good Eating Company (GEC), a premium hospitality division of Sodexo, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a luxury public-facing café in Midtown Manhattan. This role requires a hospitality leader with a strong culinary background and exceptional operational expertise to oversee all aspects of the business, balancing guest experience with financial performance, team leadership, and culinary excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead all daily café operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and consistently high service standards.
- Partner with culinary leadership to deliver innovative, high-quality food and beverage offerings.
- Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing front and back-of-house team.
- Drive financial performance by managing labor, food cost, inventory, purchasing, and operating budgets.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships with guests, vendors, and internal stakeholders while creating a culture centered on hospitality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of General Manager or senior hospitality leadership experience.
- Strong culinary background with a deep understanding of kitchen operations, menu development, and food quality.
- Proven experience managing premium cafés, restaurants, hotels, or hospitality-driven foodservice operations.
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost control.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- A passion for hospitality, food, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
- Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years
