About the Role
This role will support Australia, the Pacific Islands (incl Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, New Caledonia and French Polynesia) and Papua New Guinea (PNG). Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic communications strategy, enhancing corporate reputation through stakeholder and media engagements, and providing subject-matter expertise to local Company representatives.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of South cluster public affairs, communications and sustainability team
- Develop and implement a strategic communications strategy to support business and corporate goals in Australia, Pacific Islands and PNG
- Enhance our corporate reputation through stakeholder and media engagements, community affairs and sustainability activities.
- Develop local content for internal and external audiences for Australia, Pacific Islands and PNG in line with corporate and brand communications strategies.
- Provide subject-matter expertise and coaching to local Company representatives to help them serve as effective spokespeople and provide support and guidance to manage potential issues.
- Activate brand communications campaigns in partnership with Marketing teams.
- Support the PACS Senior Director South on ongoing public affairs and sustainability programs in the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea
- Track and monitor media and social trends and the impact of our strategies in the regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5 years or more of relevant experience in communication and / or public affairs
- Demonstrated experience in navigating matrix organizations and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven success in developing and executing national and regional communication strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and influence business outcomes.
