About the Role
The Rehabilitation Counselor will provide instruction regarding the career services curriculum, vocational interest inventories, job development, and career development training. This role focuses on enhancing students' and customers' career skills and outcomes, including resume building, portfolio development, and interview training. The position involves approximately 30-35 hours per week within a school district, with additional hours for ACCES-VR Customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide students/customers with a positive environment and effective counseling to assist them in achieving their career and community goals.
- Enable students/customers to perform effectively in community-based worksites using self-direction and CEO instructional formats.
- Develop job opportunities for students and collaborate with Department of Labor programs to engage businesses with students and adults.
- Work with student/customer families to ensure active participation in the employment process.
- Effectively utilize and modify the CEO curriculum “Career Services for people in special education and beyond.
- Provide information and goal activity for CSE or ACCES-VR planning meetings.
- Assist in the transition and notification of graduating seniors and their linkages to ACCES-VR.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of student scheduling reports and district activities using the Transmetrics database system.
- Ensure documentation of planned activities reflects submitted documentation.
- Prepare, report on, and implement transition documents and outcomes for all students, including career plans and employability profiles.
Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience as a Human Service Professional.
