About the Role
Career and Employment Options (CEO) is seeking a Full Time/Part Time Staff Person with experience in vocational, special education, and employment services to provide transition support to students and adults in Suffolk County. This role involves instructing clients in job readiness, career planning, job coaching, community access, and travel training.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in job-readiness, career planning, job-coaching, community access training, and travel training.
- Offer vocational/transition services including job development.
- Perform services in school districts and the community.
- Complete documentation, billing, and interactions with school districts, ACCES-VR, and WIOA grants accurately and on time.
- Provide a positive environment and effective counseling to assist clients in achieving career and community goals.
- Enable clients to perform effectively in community-based worksites using CEO instructional formats.
- Develop job opportunities and engage with Department of Labor programs and businesses.
- Collaborate with client families to ensure their active participation in the employment process.
- Utilize and modify the CEO curriculum "Career Services for people in special education and beyond."
- Provide information and goal activity for CSE or ACCES/VR planning meetings.
- Ensure implemented activities are documented accurately.
- Prepare and report on transition documents and outcomes for all students, including career plans and employability profiles.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience as a Human Service Professional.
