About the Role
Assists in the delivery of patient care and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs. This role involves personal care, mobility assistance, and monitoring patient well-being.
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned duties as directed by the Registered Nurse or agency staffing director.
- Obtains and documents vital signs.
- Assists with all activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, personal care, and grooming.
- Provides mobility assistance including transfers, ambulation, positioning, range of motion, and positioning precautions.
- Observes Elder's well-being and reports changes to the appropriate team member.
- Implements infection control measures.
- Documents services as required by assignment.
- Cleans all areas of the Elder’s environment according to housekeeping procedures.
- Responsible for room clean out after patient has left TRC.
- Obeys safety rules of St. John’s United.
- Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards.
- Places wet floor signs or other safety warning materials.
- Adheres to fire, emergency, and security policies and procedures.
- Supports the Eden Alternative philosophy.
- Follows the St. John’s Guidelines for Customer Service.
- Follows policy and procedures on annual TB testing.
- Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations.
- Attends all mandatory in-services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in a human service or health care setting preferred.
- Must possess a current Montana State Nurses Aide Certification, or have completed the SJU CNA Course and will obtain certification within 120 days of class completion.
- Must be a certified nursing assistant.
- Must complete Abuse Training and required training in Serve Safe™, food preparation, basic nutritional guidelines related to resident menu planning and basics of household financial management, housekeeping, infection control, light maintenance.
- Requires lifting, bending, walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Salary/Compensations
- Starting at $18 an hour (earn up to $22.50 an hour with differentials)
- Evening Diff: 5pm – 11pm $2.00 per hour
- Night Diff: 11pm – 6am $3.00 per hour
- Weekend Diff: 2pm Friday through Sunday at 11:59pm $1.50 per hour
