About the Role
Cayenta is seeking an Application Consultant to support strategic IT transformation for utility clients. This role acts as a liaison between Operations, R&D, and clients, becoming a product expert and trusted advisor for utility CIS implementations. The position is project-driven and supports a wide array of services for clients implementing and optimizing Cayenta CIS solutions.
Responsibilities
- Implement and proactively manage superior utility CIS technology solutions for clients.
- Provide implementation support to new clients by leading them through the implementation process.
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure implementation completion and resolve issues.
- Train users in system setup, administration, and maintenance.
- Perform business analysis, including gap analysis, root cause analysis, business process reviews, and requirements elicitation.
- Understand clients' utility business processes and configure applications based on business needs and best practices.
- Own the user acceptance testing and change management process.
- Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through client testing and training.
- Create user documentation and complete handover documentation for support staff.
- Identify opportunities to recommend additional products and services.
- Support Project Managers in managing engagement contracts, identifying bottlenecks, and providing project progress updates.
- Deliver implementation services efficiently to meet key project milestones.
- Provide subject matter expertise to R&D and other operational groups by understanding market trends, client needs, and business practices.
Requirements
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of an organization.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with a willingness to work at all levels of the client organization.
- Experience working with both business and IT groups, ideally in a utility CIS implementation or enterprise software environment.
- Curiosity and willingness to actively adopt emerging AI tools to improve workflows, solve problems, and drive efficiency.
- Comfort using AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, chat-based AI, and automation solutions as part of everyday work.
- Must be able to travel an average of 50% of the time within North America.
- Hold a current, valid passport.
- Be legally eligible to travel internationally, including passport-based visa exemption or possession of required travel visas for entry into Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.
