About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead our Online Storage team. This team is foundational, owning and operating the core storage, search, and permissions infrastructure that powers Zip's product.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Online Storage team, including coaching, performance management, and hiring.
- Drive the multi-cell scalability program, collaborating with Core Infra.
- Own reliability and disaster recovery for all core storage systems to defined RPO/RTO targets.
- Set technical direction for the unified search platform and permissions-system consolidation.
- Act as an internal platform partner, triaging product-team needs and balancing velocity with stability.
- Own operational excellence, including on-call health, incident response, and observability for the data layer.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing teams of 6 or more engineers.
- Hands-on experience building or operating production data infrastructure at scale (relational databases, caching, distributed storage, or search).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field.
