About the Role

Pantograph is building general models for robots, starting with internet-scale video and ending on robots. This role involves assembling mechanical and electromechanical components for our robot fleet in our San Francisco lab, working closely with the engineering team to improve assembly processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components by following detailed assembly instructions
  • Perform soldering, wiring, and other light electrical assembly
  • Use hand tools and light power tools to build high-quality assemblies
  • Inspect parts and finished robots for quality, identifying and flagging issues
  • Help maintain organized workspaces, tools, and inventory
  • Suggest improvements to assembly processes and documentation as you build

Requirements

  • Experience building or repairing things by hand — electronics, bicycles, cars, furniture, robots, musical instruments, or similar
  • Comfortable working with small, precision components
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Able to follow technical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Basic soldering skills (or are willing to learn quickly)
  • Reliable, organized, and take pride in doing careful, high-quality work
