About the Role
The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards, instructions, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
- Perform spot cleaning of rugs daily and shampooing when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills, interior glass doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash interior and exterior glass and trim at entrance doors.
- Wash and spot clean interior walls as needed daily.
- Clean bathrooms daily, restocking paper supplies, damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, reporting them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection areas.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways at building entrances, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks including high dusting, cleaning and polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
