About the Role

Vertex Partnership Academies is a public charter International Baccalaureate World High School with a classical core in the Bronx. Our mission is to provide students with upward mobility pathways and prepare them for self-governance. We focus on timeless truths, the seven classical liberal arts, and offer rigorous pathways in Humanities, Biomedical Science, Computer Science and Cybersecurity, and Montessori Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

Craft and execute lessons that impart valuable knowledge and build transferable skills.
Implement academy-wide pastoral systems.
Implement the Data Inquiry Cycle and embody the ACE Habits of Mind.
Build respectful relationships with students and staff.
Ensure assessments support learning and provide timely feedback.
Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the academic team and staff.
Participate enthusiastically in professional development.
Participate in community-based projects and school field trips.
Proactively communicate with families about student learning.
Supervise students’ Personal Projects, Extended Essays, and service requirements.
Lead an advisory group of students.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree.
A deep belief in the potential of students.
An expansive sense of personal agency.
A desire for feedback and commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted.
Ability to assist coworkers when needed.
Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting.
Ability to look at a computer screen for long periods.
