About the Role
ALC is the nation's first Asian American civil rights organization, currently involved in significant legal and political advocacy. This role offers an inside view of civil rights strategy and leadership. We seek an organized, mission-driven, and proactive Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and project coordination to the Executive Director and executive team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, is resourceful, and tech-savvy.
Responsibilities
- Manage the ED’s complex calendar, prioritizing scheduling and communicating with stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage the ED’s inbox, drafting correspondence and flagging urgent matters.
- Coordinate with the Development team to support the Executive Director's fundraising role.
- Draft, edit, and produce materials for the ED, including correspondence, memos, presentations, and talking points.
- Support the Board of Directors by scheduling meetings, setting agendas, compiling board packets, taking minutes, and maintaining documents.
- Provide logistical support for onsite and remote meetings, including travel arrangements, meals, reservations, and note-taking.
- Handle administrative tasks such as travel arrangements, expense reports, and invoicing.
- Participate in regular check-in meetings, staff meetings, team meetings, and organization meetings.
- Attend two annual retreats, an annual gala, and other meetings as needed in the San Francisco Bay area.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of administrative support experience.
- One year of experience supporting senior leaders or executives.
- Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in business email correspondence.
- Proactive problem-solver with demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment.
- Highly adaptable and resourceful team player, able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Skills
- Proficient in Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, Asana, Salesforce, and other technology platforms.
- Understanding of or familiarity with Asian, Arab, Middle Eastern and Pacific Islander and social justice movement issues is a plus.
- Ability to support with social media content including LinkedIn posts is a plus.

- $68,000 - $88,725 per year
