About the Role
The Director of Visual Merchandising, USA leads the strategic direction, execution, and evolution of the HUGO BOSS visual merchandising experience across U.S. retail and wholesale channels. This role ensures a consistent, elevated, and commercially focused brand presentation, translating global standards into regional execution. The Director collaborates with cross-functional partners to drive floorsets, launches, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives, supporting brand storytelling and business performance. This position also leads and develops the regional Visual Merchandising team, building the necessary structure, capabilities, and operational discipline for premium execution at scale. The role is critical in strengthening the customer experience and maximizing productivity in the U.S. market.
Responsibilities
- Create, distribute, and implement visual merchandising direction supporting all points of sale across US retail and wholesale channels.
- Direct a team of eight Regional VM's responsible for visual compliance and training throughout all US retail, factory outlet, and wholesale points of sale.
- Conduct regular market visits throughout the US to assess visual compliance and conduct training workshops with Regional VM's to facilitate sales growth through merchandising.
- Lead senior leadership through monthly floorset sign-offs to deliberate on all aspects of seasonal work prior to global distribution.
- Collaborate with merchandising, brand marketing, store design, and e-commerce teams to ensure strategic seasonal alignment across the integrated marketplace.
- Partner with the Global VM team in the development and execution of all seasonal visual campaigns, compliance tools, and in-store visual strategies for the US market.
- Manage the logistical planning and implementation of quarterly window installations across all US retail stores.
- Facilitate all window and in-store marketing needs for retail and factory outlet stores.
- Manage the annual visual budget, encompassing all seasonal window roll-outs and in-store visual collateral across all distribution channels.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years of Visual Merchandising experience, preferably in the luxury industry.
- Strong leadership, strategy, operational, and merchandising skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to be creative and detail-oriented.
- Ability to be proactive with strong problem-solving skills; solution-oriented.
- Demonstrates high energy and strong work ethic.
- Strong understanding of financial analytics.
- Experience working with a large volume of product; demonstrates premium commercial project management skills.
- Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them.
- Retail/Wholesale background.
- Ability to travel both locally and globally.
- Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, and Power Point programs.
