About the Role
This role owns the promise of a manufacturing system by serving as the bridge between customer needs and reliable delivery. You will turn customer requirements into validated, repeatable manufacturing processes on fielded systems, working at the intersection of additive and traditional manufacturing, process development, and materials.
Responsibilities
- Develop applications by translating customer part requirements into validated, repeatable manufacturing processes across additive (MJF, FDM, metal) and CNC, from DFM/DFAM through first article.
- Engineer and qualify process parameters, materials, and supporting documentation (part libraries, work instructions) for operator use.
- Support xCell deployments, train operators, and troubleshoot production issues on fielded systems in CONUS and OCONUS.
- Engage directly with customers to understand application needs and translate mission requirements into producible parts.
- Own first-article inspection and part qualification, and drive fixes for system failures at the process and application level.
- Provide cross-functional feedback to systems, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering based on application and field data.
- Demonstrate a high ownership mentality by closing loops, acting proactively, and maintaining high standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field).
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience with additive (MJF, FDM, or metal) and/or CNC machining.
- Fluency in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and ability to coach others.
- Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and process problems in dynamic environments where speed is critical.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
