About the Role
QAD | Redzone is building the next generation of manufacturing software, and we are looking for a leader to build our new Product Operations function. This senior leadership role has decision-making authority over product releases and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Establish Product Operations as a horizontal function serving the full product portfolio.
- Integrate an existing team with two specialist hires.
- Own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process end-to-end for AI-powered products.
- Chair stage-gate reviews and re-entry reviews to qualify products for release and expanded capabilities.
- Hold single-decision-maker authority on product release readiness.
- Own the capability-tier framework defining how AI-powered products earn increasing operational responsibility.
- Own portfolio prioritization across the product organization with a defensible framework.
- Maintain a single source of truth for the product organization's work.
- Own product trust and safety governance, including containment of issues and auditability of AI recommendations.
- Enforce ownership discipline for all shipped AI products.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CPO and represent the function in leadership and board conversations.
- Hire and lead a two-to-three-person team.
- Operate as the bench for reports during the first 12 months as the function matures.
Requirements
- 8+ years in product, product operations, or program leadership.
- Experience standing up central systems, NPI processes, or release-governance functions at scaling enterprise software companies.
- Demonstrated ownership of a stage-gate or release-governance process for a complex multi-product portfolio.
- Credibly fluent in LLM-based products, including tool use, evaluation frameworks, telemetry, safety constraints, and autonomy boundaries.
- Instinct to find the line between chaos and bureaucracy when setting up processes.
- Comfort with structure and allergy to ceremony.
- Ability to tell product and engineering leaders that a product cannot ship yet and be correct more often than wrong.
- Manufacturing, ERP, or enterprise SaaS experience is a meaningful plus.
